The blue palette came from the idea that when his boat was submerged underwater, all he could see was a vast ocean of deep navy blue, he thought; “That’s what I’ll do if I ever get back to shore: design a deep blue houndstooth handkerchief. People will dig it and I’ll probably land a 60 Minutes interview!”
